My Quilters Bee Bag

So I finally made this bag and the pattern.  Takes time cause there was a lot to figure out.  I hope you enjoy it! You can get the pattern here on Craftsy

All of this fits in this bag
okay this is a random bunch of junk that I loaded this bag with,  two rulers, a cutting mat, several scissors and rotary cutter, my gloves, all my Janome attachment, pack of frixion pens and a pack of permanent pens, add a quarter, add and eighth, small ruler, a few surgical scissors, bobbins, over 100 sewing machine needles. Two rolls of wool 13 spools of thread, small embroidery scissors, thimble and a bunch of other junk. :) I can get absolutely everything I need to take with me to Bee except my sewing machine. :)

And here is the bag closed with all this stuff in it.

  2. Wow what a cool bag. Wanna make it for me? LOL.
That would be another place for me to lose something in. I'm not very organized these days.

    1. That pattern is very detailed giving pictures for each step so it's better than a video. :)

  6. Is the interfacing on the lining double sided fusible interfacing. I wasn't sure and this is where I am in making mine. I used double sided fusible interfacing for the side panels ( and fused before I should have :( ) so my sides are just fused at the point instead of being sewn and turned. Thank you for any advise

    1. Sorry - not sure why it is publishing as unknown. Thanks, Christi

    2. Hi Christy, no use single sided, you need to be able to turn the zippered pockets right side out

    3. Take the time to read the instruction all the way through first and things will make more sense to you as you complete the steps.

    4. Double sided is not used anywhere. The interfacing on the outer and linings is only to make quilting easier. You could leave it off completely. The single sided interfacing for the pockets and sides are to five them more of a sturdy feel. Most parts that take interfacing will need to be turned right side out is why you can't use double sided interfacing.

  7. Thank you! I am fairly new to sewing and looked for interfacing online and kept seeing fusible interfacing. I appreciate the answer. I was successful in making the vinyl pocket. I'll post pics on crafts when I'm finished.

  9. Hi Christi, you will only need single sided interfacing for the pockets and the sides. Take your time and you can do this. I can't wait to see your bag! I LOVE mine!!! :)

  11. Hi and merry christmas to you.
I´m making your bag and so far I´m loving it. I have a problem with the vinyl pocket though. I can´t see any instructions on how to make it, and I don´t know what to do with the felt, either. (page 33-34)
    Greetings

    1. Hi Hanne, The clear thread pockets is a free add on to this pattern from the thread bag I also sell. You can choose to make these or not. The pattern briefly mentions them on the pages you mentioned but at the beginning of the pattern I mention the full instructions start on page 106. You will find the step by step instructions for these bag there. Sorry for the confusion. I'd love to see your bag when you have it all finished! All the best,
      Janet

  12. Is it possible to get this pattern without all the pictures? 120 pages to print out is a bit overwhelming.

    1. When you download the pattern you get a second file that is 30 pages. Or you can choose to print your pattern with multiple pages on one page which is essentially what the printable version file is and if you print on both sized of the paper then it would be 15 pages.
      Thanks,
      Janet
