Turn around times

I want to do a quick post to let you know that since I was closed for over a month with covid orders are pouring in.  :)  It is good to not be forgotten.  Production time is a little slower than normal, this one girl can only do so many orders a week.  The picture above is the third batch for the last week that went out.  I generally ship only two days a week but currently I am shipping 3 to try to get orders out as fast as I can.  I hope you understand.  Things will slow down a bit and get back to normal soon.

Handywoman is Covid Free

I wanted to do an update on my status.  I tested Covid free last week and feel pretty close to 100% now.  It was a long struggle to feel better but finally I feel like I can tackle the daily orders for Handywoman shop.   Thank you to all of you that contacted me and those that prayed for me.  There is definitely power in prayer and I can't thank you enough!   The shop is open now and I'm ready for orders.  I know that the first couple weeks will be crazy busy and I think I'm ready :)  Be gentle LOL

The last few days I've been doing things around the house that needed to get done including expanding the chicken coup.   We lost a chicken to a fox recently and I have not felt comfortable to let them free range because of this.  Their run was only about 12 feet by 8 feet and well I felt really bad making them stay inside all the time.  We extended the run and now it is 22 feet by 8 feet and I think they are pleased with their new digs :)  I also got some new herbs as what I had died off from neglect....
Here are some pictures of the new digs

Handywoman shop is closed due to covid.

Handywoman shop is closed due to covid.

I wanted to let you all know that the reason my shop is closed and you are not able to check out is because I was infected with covid about 2 weeks ago.  I closed my shop when I tested positive as I was feeling poorly.  It has been quite a battle, but once I finally was able to locate treatment and began taking medications to treat covid I was feeling better within 3 days of treatment.  I don't think I would have made it without the treatment and trust me when I tell you it is very difficult to find doctors that will give you any medications to help you get better.  I was honestly shocked at what they told me.  They pretty much tell you there is no medicine to treat covid and if it gets so bad you can't breath to go to the emergency room.  When if you do any research at all you'll find early treatment is definitely the best course of action for covid.
I hear they are finally going to open treatment centers here in Texas like they have in Florida.  This only after Abbott contracted covid and got the immune therapy that helped him to be better within a day or two.  I was not able to get the immune therapy without driving to Florida!  I was only able to get the hcq and zink.  Thankfully that worked for me.  I have now tested covid free but am still very very tired.  I hope to reopen my shop next week when I think I will be 100% (hoping).
Stay safe and be prepared if you can, I suggest trying to locate doctors or centers that treat covid now before you get it, it will save you lots of time and shorted the time you are ill.  I highly recommend you do the leg work now so you are not waiting to find treatment when you need it the most, it took me a couple days of precious time to find treatment.
Many blessings,
Janet

Lifesmart 15" Blue Kamado Ceramic Grill DIY Table

I purchased this grill at Walmart during a big sale on it.  So of course I needed a table. This grill is for me and I'm excited to get it.  I looked everywhere for plans for a table and could find nothing.  I found pictures of tables for small ceramic grill and just decided to wing it.  I made this on a Saturday.  I try to take Saturday's off if I can.  Of course as soon as I started the build orders started coming in for the pencil shuttle.  I'm guessing the New addition of Handwoven must have come out because the orders are pouring in for that shuttle.  But I finished my little table as quickly as I could.  I took many picture so you could see how it's built.  The  hold is 16.5" and I built the shelf at 15" from the ground.  I put the grill on the shelf then added the top of the table once the grill was in place so I didn't have try and lift it in after the top was on.
Here she is.

And my first steak on the grill.  :)

Creating from memories

Sometimes I don't think to post things and then I remember about fathers day this year.  I want to make sure to post about what I made for my father.  Someone may love this idea and want to do the same for a loved one who has lost someone special to them.  So this is a cutting board I cut out.  You can find shapes all over the internet if you want to cut your own out or you can purchase one.  Many places also make this sort of gift if you can't make this yourself.  But here it is and he did cry and he loves it very much. :)   I posted this below on IG

A #fathersday gift I made for one of the most important men in my life. My mother passed away from cancer 1996 and it was hard on us all, but probably the hardest on my Dad. She was his rock and cared for him like someone that loves you more than life would. I found this hand written card of her iconic recipe. Many stories can be told of her making this for us all at the holidays. The way those cranberries had to be cut just right... I hope this brings him more joy than sadness. #happyfathersdaydaddy #Handywomanshop #memories #cuttingboards #makeitworthit
