More progress made on the Cherry and Purpleheart 2 Treadle Loom

ll parts are sanded now and a few more made so all that is left to make are the heddles and tools. I'm gluing up the leg assemblies today. Yesterday my son visited as he normally does on Saturday. :) (Yes, I'm a lucky mom :) ) I did run the warp cage reel parts yesterday morning so those are done and I rand the take up rod and the warp cage rod today. I built her again before I did the leg glue ups and all looks good. Once the legs are good and dry tomorrow I'll do one more build and check that all is good. I need to sand the leg assemblies a bit then I will get started on getting a finish on her. While I'm doing the finish I will run the heddles and tools and get them ready. This one is close to done.
I did also get a walnut top glued up so the next one will be all walnut. I may do some parts in another wood but I haven't decided yet. I'll have to see what I can get.

Treadle Tape Loom Update 3

Today I was able to do a ruff assembly check.  All looks good and tomorrow I will sand all the parts and get the threads in the bottom of the top assembly parts.  If all goes well then I will be able to start the finish on these parts.  Next up will be the warp cage and take up rod assemblies and the heddles and tools.  Since there isn't much room for me to put a finish on all the parts at once these parts will get their finish after the first parts are complete.  Anyway that's the update.  :)

Handywoman tools in Handwoven Magazine again!

Can't believe I didn't post this already, I suppose I've been super busy.  The "My Everything Stick" is featured in Interweaves Handwoven magazine.  They sent me a copy of the issue.  So exciting!  It will also be featured in the upcoming Easy Weaving with Little Looms magazine but I haven't gotten that issue yet.  I'll be sure to share it with you as soon as I get a copy.
I'm over the moon with joy!!!!  I am so blessed!

Treadle Tape loom update

Today I was able to work a bit on the latest treadle tape loom.  This one will be cherry and purple-heart
Once all the parts are cut out then there is sanding to do and lots of it....then I will do a dry fit and check that all is correct.  Once all is good I can put a finish on all the pieces.  Once they are dry begin the assembly.  I'm hoping this one will be done in a couple weeks.

.  I have the Front apron, top rod and take up rod assembly pieces, the castle top, the ratchets and treadles cut out.  The top has been glued up and I scrapped the glue off today and will run it through the drum sander on Sunday and make the rest of the loom parts (heddle frame sides, legs, aprons for the legs and cut the pockets for all the rod and heddle assemblies in the base.

Handywoman New Tapestry Shuttles

Handywoman's newest shuttle is finally off the design board!
I am happy to introduce you to the new Handywoman tapestry boat shuttle. The ends are beveled for using to beat in individual yarns as you work your pattern. The tapestry shuttle is approximately 8" long and 1 inch wide and a mere 1/2 inch thick. It uses paper quills or Handywoman glass bobbins.
